A fatal accident on Thursday claimed the life of a female student in Cross River state.
The incident happened along Ikom/Calabar highway close to Obioko Ijiman in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area at about 3.12pm.
A mechanic apprentice identified only as Mr. Etowa who was reportedly test running a Honda Accord car with plate number AWK 638 AE, was said to have ran into the schoolgirl and her siblings on their way back from school.
Etowa reportedly veered off his lane unto the opposite lane and first crushed two chickens before he lost control and rammed into a group of students who were returning from school at about 3.12pm.
The siblings were rushed to the hospital after sustaining major injuries while the school girl was crushed to death with her intestines exposed.
Although no official comment has been made regarding the report, the injured victims are said to be responding to treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
