Manchester United midfielder, Bastian Schweinsteiger, will sit out the club’s next three domestic games, after admitting a violet conduct charge.
The 31-year-old was involved in an altercation with West Ham defender, Winston Reid, during their 0-0 draw at Old Trafford last Saturday.
Although referee Mark Clattenburg spoke with both players and took no action, the FA has decided to punish the former Bayern Munich man.
A statement on the FA’s official website read: “Bastian Schweinsteiger will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he accepted an FA charge for violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
“The Manchester United midfielder was involved in an incident with West Ham United’s Winston Reid in the 40th minute of the game on Saturday Dec. 5, 2015.”
Schweinsteiger will now miss matches against Bournemouth, Norwich and Stoke, but will be available for the game against Chelsea on December 28.
