Senator Isah Misau representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, has condemned the harassment by SARS operatives, saying they are used to intimidate political opponents in states.
The senator, during plenary, called on the Senate to listen to the public and take a decision in the interest of Nigerians.
Recall that IGP Idris had ordered immediate restructuring of special anti-robbery squad (sars) across the country
This follows series of complaints shared online by Nigerian youths on alleged harassment and assault by SARS operatives.
Misau in support of EndSARS campaign in a video shared via Nigerian senate official handle@NGRSENATE said:
“”It is time for The Senate to take a stand that aligns with that of the public
“In a situation where they oppress you in a state and CP cant control them they must be stopped.
“The SARS are used to intimidate political opponents especially in Rivers and, Lagos and other states.
“A lot of complaints are shared on social media, we must align ourselves with the public.”
