New Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri, has revealed that Eden Hazard “caused issues”, with the system he wanted to play at Chelsea.
Sarri has officially been named as Juventus manager, after spending just one season at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has also left to join Real Madrid, in a deal that could earn Chelsea up to £130 million after add-ons.
The Belgian was the star man in Sarri’s single season with the Blues, but the Italian claims the forward hindered his side from a defensive point of view.
“You can’t start with a system and send players away or bring them in.
“We have to identify the two or three players who can make the difference.
“The third step is to talk to the players, listen to them and then see what system we can use.
“In recent years, I’ve had 4-3-3, but the 4-3-3 at Chelsea was very different to the one at Napoli.
“We had to accompany Eden Hazard’s characteristics, as he could change the game, but also his presence caused issues in defending that we had to work on,” Sarri said during his unveiling today.
