President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Sunday visited Benue state in a show of sympathy over incessant killings in the state.
Saraki was received Sunday afternoon by the Governor of Benue state, Chief Samuel Ortom, Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Comrade Abba Yaro and other state officials.
The Senate President led a delegation from the Nigerian Senate, comprising Senators Raji Rasaki (Ekiti), Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba), George Akume (Benue North West) and Barnabas Gemade (Benue North East), to commiserate with the government and people of Benue state.
Benue state has come under severe attacks from suspected Fulani herdsmen in recent times.
The state conducted a mass burial for 76 victims of the January 1st 2018 massacre in March this year, amidst tears and condemnations.
Also last week, the state organised a mass burial for 19 victims made up of two Catholic priests and other parishioners, who were murdered by the marauders in April this year.
