Following the alarm raised by Nigerians on the outrageous N9billion Wardrobe, Car, Furniture, Accommodation and other allowances for members of the National Assembly, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Tuesday revealed that arrangements have been concluded for the setting up of an ad-hoc Committee which would reappraise the structure of the National Assembly budget.
Saraki, in his address of welcome to senators as they resumed plenary after a two-week break, urged the lawmakers to run a more transparent National Assembly to avoid what he termed, attendant misinformation which can be carried in the press.
He assured that the ad-hoc committee will look at the structure of the National Assembly in order to ensure that the Senate becomes more transparent as well as put measures in place to ensure that the budget was in line with economic realities.
The Senate President however described media reports on the Wardrobe allowance as false, malicious and reckless.
