Saraki speaks on Nigeria Police

President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Monday, called for improved welfare and better condition of service for officers and men of the Nigeria Police, as well as personnel of other security agencies, as a motivation to continue to give their best service to the country.

Saraki, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanni Onogu, in Abuja, made the call while decorating his Aide-In Camp (ADC), Usman Dungunza Na’abu, with his new rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and four other newly promoted police officers in his security detail.

He said that even though the elevation of the officers was in recognition of their hard work, commitment and service, he expects the new ranks to further spur them to put in their best always.

“I congratulate all of you for this achievement which is in recognition of your hard work, commitment and service,” Saraki said.

“This is a promotion that is duly deserved. I hope that this promotion will further spur you to continue to provide the best service for this country.

“We know the sacrifices you all make. You are working hard to protect this country. We all know that conditions can be better but despite that you still give it your best to protect all of us.

“Those of us you serve appreciate your service. It is our hope that your conditions will become better to ensure that those that work hard get their promotion based on merit and that there is justice and fair play in the exercise.

“For those of you who were not lucky this time, I want to encourage you to continue to put in your best as your promotion will surely come,” he stated.

Other officers decorated by Saraki include Mohammed Bashir, promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), Salisu Ibrahim from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to DSP, Acheche Noah, Inspector to ASP, and Haruna Abila, Inspector to ASP.
