Presiding Judge of the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal, Justice Abdul Aboki, on Thursday adjourned hearing on the trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki till July 18.

Saraki had filed an application before the court contending with the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, to preside over his matter.

The Senate President is currently facing charges of false assets declaration while he was the Governor of Kwara State.

Justice Aboki adjourned the matter at the instance of the Senate President’s lawyer, Kanu Agabi, SAN, who could not appear for today’s hearing due to ill health.

Agabi had sent a letter to the presiding judge, praying for an adjournment of the matter due to his ill health.

The judge in his ruling said, “In view of the letter sent to this panel from the applicant’s counsel, Chief Kanu Agabi, seeking adjournment on account of ill health and since this prayer is not opposed, the court will grant it.

“The hearing of the appeal is hereby adjourned until July 18.’’
