The Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Friday reacted to the death of Kogi-born Reps member, Umar Buba Jibril.
The member, who represented Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, was on Friday morning announced dead.
Jibril, a three time member of the house, died in the early hours of Friday in Abuja.
Saraki, in a statement on his verified Twitter handle, offered his condolence to the family of the deceased.
He described the former Speaker of the Kogi house of assembly as a seasoned lawmaker.
The Senate President wrote, ” My prayers are with the family and constituents of Rt. Hon Umar Buba Jibril, Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, who passed away early this morning.
“As a former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, late Hon. Jibril, was a seasoned and conscientious lawmaker.
“My deep condolences also go out to Speaker Dogara and the government and people of Kogi State over the loss of Hon. Jibril. May the Almighty forgive his shortcomings and grant him a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus. Amin.
