Saraki meets behind closed doors with US Envoy

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday met with the United States, US’ Ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington.

The meeting was held behind closed doors at Saraki’s office, according to the Senate President’s Special Assistant on International Relations, Bamikole Omisore.

“The US Ambassador, Stuart Symington, paid a courtesy visit to President of Senate @bukolasaraki early this morning in his office. Both had a private discussion before SP proceeded into the red chamber,” Omisore tweeted.

During the session, the lawmakers threatened to invoke its powers against the President, if nothing was done to end the ongoing killings in the country, kidnappings, humiliation of perceived political opponents of the president among other demands.
