Former handler of the Super Eagles, Samson Siasia, has denied reports that he applied to become the head coach of the Ugandan national team.

Siasia, who recently landed a role as the Sole Administrator of a football academy in Bayelsa, is rumoured to have contacted the Ugandan FA, to replace Bobby Williamson, but he has now denied the speculations.

“Well it is good to learn that one is admired and wanted as a coach in Africa but the truth is that I have not applied for any Uganda national team job. Trust me if I have I will surely not hide it. The only job I can confirm I ever applied for is the Kenya national team job,” Siasia told Goal.com.

He also insisted the he is focused on the football academy he is in charge of, stating that, “Right now I am very involved in football academy works in Bayelsa State since His Excellency, Governor Dickson Seriake appointed me as the sole administrator to develop football in the state, I have been concentrating on that.

“Also we are organizing an U-18 International Football Tournament in honour of our father Edwin Clark which would be held in Akwa Ibom State between May 16th and 25th this year.

“This is what I am doing presently and what I am devoted to do for now. When the opportunity to handle a national team comes, the media would be duly informed.”
