Vice President, Namadi Sambo has promised that the federal government will carefully study the Bakassi Report and implement the relevant areas that are of benefit to Nigeria.
He said this on Thursday during the presentation of the report of the committee headed by the Deputy Governor of Cross-River State, Efiok Cobham, at the State House Abuja.
While commending the effort of the team, Sambo assured that government would come up with a position that will favour its citizens in the disputed oil-rich area.
In his address, Cobham stated that the committee diligently worked within its mandate and examined issues that bordered on legal, technical and socio-economic factors.
He thanked members of the committee members, as well as the federal government’s decision to select them for the task.
Cobham expressed that the committee made far reaching recommendations that will assist in resolving the issues it worked on.
Other prominent officials present at the presentation were the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro; Director- General National Boundary Commission, Florence Giwa; and the Executive Secretary, Border Communities Commission, Numoipre Mills.
