Ahead of the Sallah celebrations, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has directed the Ministry of Finance to commence immediate payment of August salary to workers.
Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, disclosed this on Wednesday.
He explained that arrangements have been concluded and that workers would receive their salaries with effect from Thursday.
Banu stressed that Governor Ahmed’s directive came at a time the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee “is yet to meet for the month, not to talk of disbursing monthly allocation to federal, state and local governments.”
“This testifies to the government’s commitment to the welfare of the people”, he said.
Banu further noted that Local Government Councils and SUBEB are also expected to pay their workers tomorrow.
