Sallah: Emir of Zaria calls for peace

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, has advised Nigerians to be very vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest authorities during and after the Sallah celebrations.

He made the call in his sallah message to the Muslim communities in his palace as part of activities marking the eid -el fitir celebrations, marking the end of one month Ramadan fasting.

The Emir said, “Our security is in our hands and for that, we must support and work with security agents by giving them useful information.”

He charged parents to closely monitored their children and know those they associate with. He urged them to give their wards advice as parents and ensure they move with peers that are responsible and would help them to live as good citizens.

Alhaji Shehu Idris also advised the people to support government policies and development plans for our state to progress, stressing that the present administration has laudable programmes to transform the state within a short time.

The emir restated the cancellation of the sallah traditional festival to sympathise with the families of the Sabon Gari suicide bomb attack which claimed many lives and left others injured.

He congratulated the entire Muslims for the successful completion of Ramadan fasting and urged them to make use of what they learn during the period.
