The Bauchi state police said it has deployed about 2,992 of its men in preparation for the Ed-El Fitir celebration.
The command has equally vowed to neutralise hoodlums capable of causing insecurity in the state.
This was contained in a press statement made available to DAILY POST and signed by the Command’s Spokesman, DSP Datti Kamal Abubakar.
The deployment according to Abubakar is to ensure adequate security of lives and properties during the period of the Sallah celebration.
“The command is fully prepared to deal with hoodlums, political thugs and any other disgruntled elements ready to cause panic during the Sallah period,” the statement added.
Abubakar stressed that the police Will also collaborate with sister organizations to tackle activities of criminals in the state during the period of the celebration.
The police spokesman further said, policemen will be adequately mobilised and be placed strategically in all prayer grounds in the state.
“About 2,992 policemen are deployed for security cover during this year’s ed-el fitir and it’s expected that everything will go normal,” concluded the statement.
