The Chief Imam of Bauchi, Alhaji Bala Ahmed Baban Inna has tasked the federal government to provide employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths for the sustenance of peace, stability and socio-economic growth.
The Chief Imam made the call shortly after performing the two raka’at Eid prayer held at the Bauchi State Eid praying ground in Bauchi.
He said unemployment was the major factor that causes moral decadence, bad attitude and immoral behaviors among youths in the country.
He said the youth has a vital role to play in nation building, politically, socially and in all aspects of development, and urged government at all levels to take proactive measures in order to save youths from engaging in criminal acts.
The Chief Imam prayed for the peaceful conduct of 2019 general elections and advised all political aspirants, and their supporters to desist from any act that will result in conflicts.
He admonished the congregation on the importance of Eid-el-Kabir and advised Muslims to make the best use of lessons derived friom Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and to pray for sustainable peace and unity in the country.
Similarly, Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has called on Muslims to rededicate themselves to the services of Allah and assist the less privileged in the society.
Abubakar made the call in his Sallah goodwill message to the people of the state yesterday in Bauchi.
He said the occasion was a reflection of activities in the previous year, and assessment of spiritual affairs and reminded that Islamic religion preaches peaceful coexistence irrespective of tribe , religion or political affiliations.
He assured of his administration’s commitment to continued maintenance of law and order for sustainable development while protecting lives and properties of the citizenry.
Abubakar thanked the people of the state for their cooperation and support to his administration so far.
