Ondo State Governor and chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has given assurances that the inability of state governments in the country to pay salaries will soon become a thing of the past.
The governor stated this on Sunday at the 13th Anniversary of the Prayer Centre Church of God in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to Mimiko, the inability of state governments to pay workers’ salaries is the greatest challenge facing the country today, urging Nigerians to continue to pray for the country.
The governor posited that despite the numerous sins daily committed by Nigerians, “God has continued to show uncommon mercy to Nigeria, that when the whole world thought that it’s over for the country, God comes to our rescue and our country is now at peace.”
Continuing, Mimiko said: “We should all be thankful to God in this country, because many people thought that by today our country will be in a crisis but I’m glad to say that each time we thought that it’s all over for Nigeria, God always come to our rescue. Where we are today is because of the prayers of saints.
“God promised that there will be peace and prosperity in our palaces, what we are going through today in this country will soon pass away, even the inability of state governments to pay salaries.”
Preaching at church service, Pastor Ade Ojo called for spiritual rebirth among Nigerians, adding that Nigerians must remain committed to the service of God for the nation to experience transformation and breakthrough.
