Salami tips Warri Wolves for NPFL title

Warri Wolves striker, Gbolahan Salami, has insisted that they are favourites to win the Nigeria Professional Football League (NFPL) title, ahead of Enyimba who currently top the log.

The Seasiders are currently second with 55 points from 32 matches, three points behind Enyimba.

Salami, who netted a hat-trick as Wolves hammered Sunshine Stars 3-0 last weekend, says they have enough to finish top.

“We in Warri Wolves are not ready to settle for second best. We have our eyes on the league title and even though Enyimba are occupying that position presently we are aware that the remaining league matches are enough to settle things in our favour,” Salami told Goal.

“We came all out against Sunshine Stars because we wanted to prove a point to our rivals and having achieved that, we have our eyes on the league and not even Enyimba and other clubs can stop us.

“They are ahead of us with three points and with 18 points still to be battled for, we are very optimistic that title drought will be a thing of the past in Warri Wolves at the end of this season.”
