Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho was apologised for leaving the stadium, after he was dropped for Saturday’s match against Everton.
The defender was spotted driving out of Anfield, after Brendan Rodgers revealed he would be starting the derby with Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel in the centre of defence.
“I’m aware it was a bad choice from my part,” Sakho wrote on his Facebook and Twitter pages.
“I really want to apologise to the club, the supporters and every person who felt offended when I left the stadium this afternoon.”
Sakho, who moved from Paris Saint-Germain last year for £16m, has already made five appearances in the Reds’ first seven matches of the season.
Phil Jagielka smashed in a glorious equaliser to cancel out Steven Gerrard’s opener, as the Merseyside battle ended 1-1.
