“Safe journey, may Allah protect you” – Dapchi residents cheer Boko Haram [VIDEO]

Days after an image showing residents of Dapchi wave at a convoy of Boko Haram emerged, a new video has shown how they cheered, shook hands and prayed for the insurgents as they exited the town.

Sympathisers of the Buhari government had accused the media and opposition of propaganda, saying the event never occurred.

But in the video obtained by Daily Nigerian, young indigenes of the Yobe community ran after the convoy in excitement as they hailed the sect members.

They also bade Boko Haram farewell as the terrorists made their way back to their hideouts.

It was earlier reported that Boko Haram members who returned the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls spent 20 minutes preaching to them before leaving.

Witnesses revealed that the insurgents stormed the town early morning of Wednesday March 21.

They added that those who came did not harm or harass anybody.

Speaking on events that surrounded the release, an international rescue worker recalled that the Boko Haram members that brought the girls were fully armed.

“They were confident and unfazed. As they ordered the girls to alight from the vehicles, they gathered them in one place and held the brief preaching session”, the source said.

“They asked them to return to the path of Allah and stop pursuit of Western Education.

“They told them that they released them because they wanted to give them another chance of returning to Allah”.
