Alhaji Ali Saidu, a renowned All Progressives Congress chieftain in Bauchi State has urged the party’s factional headquarters not to hesitate to sack Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, and nine others from the party.
The APC chieftain is accusing Dogara’s faction of dragging the APC before the court of law in Abuja, where he is challenging the recent Congresses in the State.
Saidu exclusively told DAILY POST in an interview in Bauchi, that their action was in haste, therefore, contravene the APC constitution.
“It’s expected that all aggrieved members should exhaust all avenues of complains and wait to hear from the party’s national headquarters aftermath of our Congresses, which is in line with APC constitution, but they drags the party before a competent court without waiting to hear from the part. “Saidu laments.
It could be recalled that the Speaker-Dogara, former Police Affairs Minister, Dr Yakubu Ibrahim Lame, Barrister Zailani, former reps member from Toro, Hon. Aminu Tukur. Bauchi state Assembly member, among others had dragged the APC to the Federal High Court in Abuja, and demanded for the cancellation of the party’s congresses in Bauchi over alleged irregularities by agents of the government.
The APC chieftain added that the action of Dogara’s faction had already confirmed and proved to APC the rumours that they were leaving the ruling party to the opposition.
“Already we have information that Dogara’s APC faction are making contact to defect to the opposition ahead of 2019 elections and have allegedly invested in the opposition deliberately to scuttle Buhari”s second term ambition,” added Saidu.
He said that Abubakar and Buhari’s choice as governor and president respectively was not negotiable come 2019 elections, attributing same to star performance of APC in fighting corruption in Nigeria.
“Most of them that dragged the party to court may be in fever of losing their elected position ahead of the 2019 and are looking for an alternative since they are no longer having the support of their people again,” Saidu stressed.
