Contrary to the report that kidnappers are demanding a ransom of 200 million naira from the family of Titilayo, wife of the former military Governor of the old Western State , Bgr-Gen Oluwole Rotimi (rtd), the Police have said that the abductors never made such demand from the family.

According the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ayodele Lanade, 10 suspects have been arrested between Wednesday and Thursday in connection with the abduction.

The police spokesperson disclosed that no serious information that could lead to the tracking of the woman was gotten from the suspects after being interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Bureau (SCIB), Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Lanade dismissed the earlier report that the abductors demanded for N200 million ransom for the release of Titilayo.

He said, “I can tell you that the issue of demand for ransom on the release of the abducted woman was a rumour, because none of the family members contacted was able to offer any genuine information about the source of the demand and where it was made.”

The police image maker assured that men of the command would ensure the woman regains her freedom as quick as possible.

It would be recalled Titilayo was kidnapped in front of her haulage company at Alakia, outskirts of Ibadan in Egbeda Local Government area of Oyo State on Monday evening by four unidentified men.
