Former Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney has arrived at Everton’s training ground to undergo his medical as he closes on a return to his boyhood club.
Rooney, who is Manchester United’s all-time top scorer is set to rejoin the Toffees after 13 years.
This is as Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is set to move in the opposite direction for £75million.
The 31-year-old Captain for club and country, was reduced to a bit-part role under Jose Mourinho at United last season and also lost his place in Gareth Southgate’s England team.
The striker moved to Old Trafford from Everton for £27m in 2004.
He won five Premier League titles, four League Cups and the 2015-16 FA Cup on his way to a personal tally of 253 goals.
Rooney will be Ronald Koeman’s sixth signing of the close season following Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford, Davy Klassen, Sandro Ramirez and Henry Onyekuru to Goodison Park.
