Following the release of the autopsy report on late Ronke Shonde, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Lekan, two weeks ago at their Egbeda residence in Lagos State, the Lagos State Police Command has stated that the alleged wife killer will be tried for murder.
This disclosure was made known by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Dolapo Badmos, on Thursday.
The PPRO told the Punch that the suspect would be arraigned in court on Friday for allegedly killing his wife.
This came after the autopsy report signed by one Dr. Shoyemi, a Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, attributed the cause of her death to respiratory seizure as a result of water in the head and some injuries also in the head.
Recall that the police in Lagos had said with the report, detectives would continue with the next line of investigation, which will include, among others, the mental stability of Lekan.
The police spokesperson said, “The autopsy has revealed that Mr. Lekan Shonde, the alleged killer of his wife, has a case to answer.
“Therefore, he will be charged to court tomorrow (Friday) to answer to the charge of murder.”
