Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, told Sir Alex Ferguson six weeks ago, that he is ready to leave the La Liga club.
According to the UK Mirror, Ronaldo confided in his former United boss, that he was unsettled at the Bernabeu, weeks before the tax allegations became public.
The Portugal captain and Ferguson have remained close since his £80million move to Real Madrid and chat regularly when their paths cross.
It is believed that this conversation took place, after Madrid defeat Juventus in the Champions League final in Cardiff on June 3.
Ronaldo told his mentor that he felt unloved in Spain, especially with fans booing him despite his incredible goal-scoring feats. He also told Ferguson that the dressing room atmosphere was often straine,d unlike the camaraderie he felt during his time at Old Trafford.
Ferguson, who still has influence within the club’s corridors, would love Ronaldo to return. But it remains to be seen if current manager Jose Mourinho will be keen.
