Portuguese captain, Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to break Europe’s all-time top international scorer record of 84 goals held by ex-Hungarian international, Ferenc Puskás.
Ronald, who scored twice in added time to seal a 2-1 win for Portugal against Egypt in an international friendly match on Friday in Zurich, has now hit 81 international goals for his country, making him just three goals behind Puskás.
However, Statistics from UEFA show that the 33-year-old moved above Japan’s Kunishige Kamamoto (80goals) to third place in the global rankings, with only Puskás (84goals) and Iran’s Ali Daei (109goals), having now outscored the Japanese.
The Real Madrid star will level with Puskás if he scores a hat-trick against the Netherlands tonight (Monday).
