However, Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo did score for the Turin club.
Also, Defender Matthijs De Ligt finally made his debut for Juventus, as they were defeated by the Premier League giants.
De Ligt, who made his debut from the bench, joined the Serie A champions earlier this month from Ajax.
The Netherlands international replaced Leonardo Bonucci in the 63rd minute of the encounter.
Juventus will now take on Inter Milan in their next fixture on Wednesday.
