Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 500th club goal, as Real Madrid defeated Club America 2-0 on Thursday, to qualify for the final of the Club World Cup.
The 31-year-old, who was named winner of the 2016 Ballon D’Or on Monday, broke free in the 93rd minute of the game to double their lead.
Ronaldo has scored 500 goals from just 689 matches. His 377th for Real Madrid came in 367 games; he scored 118 goals in 292 for Manchester United, and five in 31 for Sporting Lisbon.
He is only second to Lionel Messi (321 goals in 359 matches) in La Liga goals scored, with 270 in 247 appearances.
Ronaldo had netted his 500th career goal for club and country against Malmo in September 2015.
