Ronaldo says he’s not bothered about Mourinho’s criticism, ready to stay at Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has waved away comments from former Real Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho, who said that his compatriot did not listen to him anymore, because he feels he knows it all.

“Ronaldo has had three fantastic seasons with me. We found a tactical set-up where he got the best out of himself and scored a lot of goals. I had one problem with him, though,” Mourinho told Punto Pelota.

“When I criticised him from a tactical point of view because I felt he could still improve, he did not accept what I had to say.

“That might be because he thinks he already knows everything and the coach cannot help him grow anymore…”

When the forward was asked about the comments after Portugal’s win over Russia on Friday, he replied: “Do you really think I’m worried about that?” was Ronaldo’s response to questions about Mourinho’s criticism. “I’m concerned with the national team, that’s what matters most to me. Opinions of others…,”

The former Manchester United player, also revealed that he was looking forward to agreeing a new deal, to stay at Santiago Bernabeu.

“I am well, calm and not worried about it. I know we will reach a deal,” he said.
