Ronaldo equals Raul’s all-time record for Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo’s two goals against Malmo on Wednesday, means that he has now scored 501 career goals for club and country in 753 games.

His match-winning brace, also ensured that he tied the Real Madrid’s scoring record. Ronaldo is now level with club legend, Raul, on 323 goals.

The Portugal captain moved to Madrid from Manchester United in 2009, for a then world record fee of £80 million and it took him just 308 games to match the record.

Ronaldo also netted 118 times for United, 55 for Portugal and five for Sporting Lisbon.

“What Ronaldo does you cannot name, it is on another historic level,” Raul told Marca earlier this week.

“It is incredible what he has done in only six years, scoring an average of more than 50 goals a season, when it used to be hard for me to reach 20. I hope he keeps scoring many more goals for a long time, and helps the team to win titles.”

Ronaldo is also the record scorer in the Champions League with 82 goals. .
