Ronaldo red card Cordoba Jan2015

Cristiano Ronaldo has said sorry, for picking up a red card against Cordoba on Saturday.

The Portuguese was sent off in the second half, after he kicked out at defender Edimar as a free-kick was being taken. He was immediately sent off by referee Alejandro Hernandez.

Madrid however went on to win 2-1, thanks to a late Gareth Bale penalty.

“I apologise to everyone, and especially to Edimar, for my thoughtless actions during the game today,” he said.

Madrid went on to snatch maximum points after Gareth Bale won and converted a penalty in the dying minutes.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti however denied seeing the incident.

“I didn’t see Cristiano’s action and I can’t judge it,” the Italian said.
