Real Madrid has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo agreed terms on a new deal, which will be signed at a special event, today, Monday.
The Portugal captain has extended his contract until 2021, when he turns 36.
Ronaldo’s camp and the La Liga club, have been in negotiations for weeks and this news comes one week after Gareth Bale committed to the club until 2022 .
A club statement reads: “The official event for the renewal of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract will take place tomorrow, Monday November 7 at 13:30CET in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
“The Portuguese forward will extend his contract until 30 June 2021 at the event attended by club president Florentino Perez and the player himself.”
Before the club made this announcement, Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, gave a hint that the player will finish his career with the club.
“I’m happy because what he must do is finish his career here,” he said after the match against Leganes on Sunday.
“Cristiano is unique. What he has done and what he will do. His only intention is to finish his career here.
“I am happy because we can renew and he can finish with this white shirt as I did long ago.”
Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, for a then-world-record fee and has won one La Liga title, as well as two Copa del Rey and Champions League crowns during his time in Madrid.
