Roma chief says Strootman will not move to Manchester United

Roma’s general director Mauro Baldissoni, has insisted that the club has no intentions of selling Kevin Strootman to Manchester United next momth.

The Dutch midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford and manager Louis van Gaal has previously managed him while in charge of Holland.

Chelsea has also been mooted as a possible destination for the player, but Baldissoni says Strootman will stay in Rome.

“Our (club) president (James Pallotta) has already spoken about this and he gets angry with the rumours that link him (Kevin) to Manchester United,” he told Italian radio station Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport.

“Our policy is that of investing in players that have quality but have room for improvement.

“Kevin is a young player with experience, and we want to build our future with players like him.”
