Rohr to spy on Cameroon, Algeria at 2017 AFCON

Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has revealed he will be at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, to spy on 2018 World Cup rivals, Cameroon and Algeria.

Nigeria and Zambia failed to qualify for the tournament in Gabon, but the two other countries in Group B of the African qualifying zone, will participate in the continental competition.

“I will be in Gabon to look at Cameroon and Algeria again,” Rohr said.

The Eagles will take the Indomitable Lions in a double header in August 2017.

Nigeria currently top the group with six points. Cameroon have two points, while Zambia and Algeria have one point each.

Rohr also added he will tour Europe, to have a closer look at some of his players.

“We will continue to monitor our players in Europe,” he said.

“We want to find some players from some positions in Europe.

“I hope to be in Belgium, Turkey, Germany to see how some of these players work.”
