The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been nominated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for national team of the year, with its handler Gernot Rohr in the running to win coach of the year.
CAF announced the nominations for the 2017 Aiteo CAF award on Monday.
Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, is also among the nominees for the best women’s player award, while Nigeria’s U-20 women national team, Falconets, are up for the women’s national team of the year award.
The winners will be decided by votes from the members of the CAF technical and development committee, CAF media experts panel and independent media and TV consultants.
The award gala will take place on January 4, 2018, in Accra, Ghana.
