Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has expressed his disappointment at the decision of Hertha Berlin defender, Jordan Torunarigha, to commit his international future to Germany instead of Nigeria.
Rohr met with the 19-year-old last year, over the possibility of switching allegiance to Nigeria.
Torunarigha is qualified to represent the West African country through his father.
However, the defender has now turned down Nigeria and wants to progress through the ranks with Germany.
“We would have liked to take him (Torunarigha) to the World Cup if he had agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
“I would have needed his kind of player in my squad,” OwnGoalNigeria quotes Rohr as saying.
