With four minutes of stoppage time left, Robin van Persie stepped up and whipped in a free kick, which was deflected past Joe Hart, to hand Manchester United a 3-2 win over arch rivals, Manchester City.
United went into the break two goals up, thanks to a Wayne Rooney brace, but City came out fighting in the second half.
Yaya Toure pulled one back, before Zabaleta slammed home the equaliser, after a corner kick was not well cleared. For a long spell, City were on top and looked as if they would get the winning goal.
However, it was United who had the final say, after Van Persie’s effort, was deflected in, to end City’s unbeaten start to this campaign and their first home loss since December 2010.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s men, are now six points clear, at the top of the English Premiership.
