Three members of a two separate gang of armed robbers that attack motorists and commuters during gridlocks in Lagos State have been rounded up by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, attached to the State Police Command.
Operatives of the RSS apprehended the suspect around Orile Iganmu and Mile 2 areas of the state following a distress call they got from victims of the robbery attacks while in traffic.
The arrest of the three suspects was confirmed by the RRS commander, Olatunji Disu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Two of the robbery suspects were arrested around 11.00 p.m. on July 31 at the National Art Theatre in Iganmu area of the state
Also a member of a notorious gang that allegedly terrorize residents of Mile 2 has been apprehended by a mobile team of the Rapid Response Squad attached to the State Police Command.
The suspect was nabbed while trying to break into a victim’s car on July 28th.
The suspect, 33-year-old Ugochukwu Otuneme, allegedly belong to a member of a robbery syndicate which specialises in snatching vehicles and disposing residents of their belongings at the Mile 2 area of the state.
Cofessing to the suspect said he usually operates alongside other members of his gang who are now at large.
