“We were all outside around 8pm because there was no ‘light’ and suddenly some men came on a motorbike and started shooting repeatedly into the air towards a popular eatery in the area (name withheld). Some drivers abandoned their motors on the highway and ran for safety.”

The eyewitness added that after the robbers had gone, a woman started crying that her money was snatched.

“The woman was in her car with the Mallam, not knowing that the robbers were watching their transaction from a corner.”

It was after they had gone that she started shouting that her over N3.5M she changed from Japanese Yen was stolen.”

Asked if anybody was killed during the incident, the source said. “Nobody was killed, but I suspect the robbers operated upon information. Because after the operation, they drove away through the Ago Palace Way. She added that the police at the roundabout were nowhere to be found during the incident.
