Passengers from Abuja, Okene axiz on the Benin Auchi road, Edo State were attacked by armed robbers and valuables worth millions of Naira were carted away.
The passengers were attacked in Ehor, the headquarters of Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, close to the headquarter of Jehovah Witness Church.
One of the victims, who is also a corps member posted to Kano state for the one-year compulsory service told DAILY POST that the robbers made away with his handset, cash and expensive gold wristwatch.
“As I’m speaking with you now sir, i am in the hospital, though I didn’t sustain severe injury, but my valuables and that of other persons were carted away by the robbers.
“Some of us have cuts at various parts of our bodies, they used cutlass on some of the passengers who could not give them what they wanted.”
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Uwanbuzor, told our correspondent that he was not aware of the incident at the time of this report.
