Rivers: Wike cautions FG against manipulating election re-run

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said there is a grand plan by the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government to take over the state by all means.

Wike at a workshop organised by the state chapter of the PDP also said the plan to take over Rivers State was beyond politicians in the state.

The Governor told members of the PDP that he was not scared of any re-run. He, however, cautioned against the use of security operatives to intimidate voters.

Wike further warned the Federal Government not to interfere with the re-run elections in Rivers state.

“As far as this state is concerned, if there is going to be a re-run, let there be a re-run and let them not write the result in Abuja and tell us that there was a re-run. We will not take it.

“When I see those people dancing in Rivers State that they have won, we are not fighting with them. We know the conspiracy to take over Rivers State.

“Some of them think that it is me, No! It has gone beyond that. They have a reason, but don’t be disappointed.

“Those of you whose election has been nullified, don’t worry we are going to take them back,” Wike said.

The Governor is expected to swear-in 22 Commissioners today, Friday.
