The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the appointment of Dr Tammy Danagogo as the new Secretary to the State Government.
Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the governor on Electronic Media, made the announcement in a statement on Sunday.
Danagogo was a former Minister of Sports.
Wike also approved the appointment of Engr Chukwuemeka Woke as the Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt.
“The two officials will be sworn in by the Rivers State Governor at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House Port Harcourt by 2pm”, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Wike has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the chiefs and leaders of Andoni Local Government Area, to ensure the immediate release of three kidnapped expatriates of Raffoul Nigeria Limited.
The Governor said he will withdraw the recognition of all government-recognised chiefs in the area and cancel the Andoni aspect of the Unity Road project if the leaders failed to secure the release of the three expatriates kidnapped by Andoni youths at the expiration of the ultimatum.
