Collection of the permanent voters cards in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State has recorded hitches.

DAILY POST gathered that thugs invaded some units and snatched PVCs meant for distribution to prospective voters.

A member of the state House of Assembly representing PHALGA Constituency Two, Irene Inimgb confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with DAILY POST.

“Some of the thugs have gone to the collection centre to beat up the INEC Supervisor and the Youth corper that are there.

“They have carried their computer system and some materials that are with the officials.

“In Stella Marris too, that place is boiling like fire, it is the same thing where I am calling you from, Trans Amadi”.

In a similar development, suspected political thugs invaded Rumuji community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and hijacked Cards meant for unit five in ward thirteen.

DAILY POST gathered that the hoodlums entered the unit and snatched the PVCs from the NYSC members deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as ad-hoc staff.

Some prospective voters, who spoke, expressed disappointment about the incident, stressing that they could lose their right to vote for the candidates of their choice in the forthcoming elections, if nothing was done to recover their permanent voters cards.
