The Rivers State government is battling with over 200 cases, the Attorney General of the state, Worgu Boms has disclosed.
Boms, who is also the State commissioner for Justice told DAILY POST that over two hundred and forty law suits have been instigated against the governor Rotimi Amaechi-led government.
The Attorney General disclosed that the cases against the Rivers state government were all aimed at bringing down the administration without any just course.
He said Governor Amaechi was not distracted in carrying out his responsibilities despite the high number of cases.
“As I speak to you now, we have nothing less than 240 cases. How do you go about these cases? How do you defend them?
“There is the issue of the Soku oil wells and the Abia oil wells. This case is still in court. We also have the issue of the Federal Allocation Account. There is the issue of the Banana Farm plantation. They instigated injunctions numbering 40.
“The issue of Acting Chief Judge, they sponsored people. That one has about 8 cases. You are aware of our Aircrafts that was impounded by the Federal government. You know of Obio-Akpor.
“We are the government most litigated against in the history of this country. Go and check the records.
“But fortunately, no amount of litigation can perturb me. None at all because we will beat them. We will match them. If you fight proper wars you will learn useful lessons.
“I don’t want to appear to give the impression that the government is for some people. No, government is for everybody including those who you call the opposition.
“Most of these cases are not filed to vindicate the law but to remove government from office.
“Everyrhing we have done is the best interest ot the Rivers people and they are done in good fate”, he said.
