Rivers rerun: Wike declares three days fasting, prayer

Ahead of the Saturday’s legislative re-run election in Rivers State, the state government has declared a three-day fasting to seek God’s intervention in the poll.

In a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Austin Tam-George in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Monday, he disclosed that the fast would be observed between Wednesday, and Friday.

According to the statement, “The fasting will involve churches and residents of the state; the essence is to seek God’s divine intervention in the election.

“We know that when we seek the face of God, He will cause our state to have a peaceful rerun election and no principality or power can stand Him.’’
