The National and State Assembly election petition tribunal in Port Harcourt says it has received ten petitions from aggrieved politicians and political parties that participated in the March 19 re-run election in Rivers state.
A document signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Suraju Gusau shows that two PDP candidates and eight APC candidates have so far indicated interest to challenge the outcome of their elections.
The candidates of the PDP in Opobo-Nkoro and Akuku-Toru state Constituencies are challenging the victories of their opponents, while candidates of the APC in Emohua, Omuma, Ahaoda-East one and two, Obio-Akpor one and two and Degema constituencies are also before the tribunal.
Collyns Owhonda of the APC is also challenging the victory of Blessing Nsiegbe of the PDP for the PHALGA Federal Constituency two seat.
