The Rivers State Police Command is currently interrogating the former council Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Charles Ayanwu.
Ayanwu was arrested at his home town in Ulakwo-Etche, based on a petition purportedly written by his father, Emma Ayanwu accusing him of being a cultist, training thugs that would be used during the forthcoming elections, and possession of firearms.
DAILY POST checks showed that while Charles is a member of the APC and a loyalist to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, his father is a chieftain of the PDP and a staunch supporter of Nyesom Wike.
However, Charles is being held by the State Anti-Robbery Squad in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer at the Rivers State Police Command, Ahmad Mohammad said there was a complaint against Charles and he was currently undergoing interrogation.
The former Etche coucncil chairman was arrested with some of his supporters, and most of them have since been released, except three.
