Rivers LG election: Atiku reacts to PDP’s sweep of 23 chairmanship seats

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Rivers State Local Government council elections.
DAILY POST reports the PDP cleared all twenty-three chairmanship positions in the just-concluded Local Government council elections in Rivers state.
According to results announced by the Chairman of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, Justice Chukwunenye Uriri, the exercise was free and fair, and there was no report of violence in any Local government during the election.
Reacting to the outcome of the exercise, the presidential aspirant, who congratulated Governor Wike for a successful election, stated that the victory was an indication that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is the preferred choice of the people.
Atiku wrote on Twitter, ”The results of Rivers LG polls show that slowly and surely, power is returning to the people.
”Congratulations to Gov. Wike and the entire exco and hardworking members of @OfficialPDPNig in Rivers for proving that our great party is the preferred choice.”
