A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has adjourned till April 1 to hear the Interlocutory Injunction seeking the cancellation of the entire  process of the governorship and state assembly elections conducted in the state.

The case was instituted by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Rivers State, Precious Elekema, against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Elekema and state chairman of the party are praying the court to compel INEC to cancel the entire electoral process and re-conduct fresh elections in the state.

When the matter was mentioned in court, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, through its lawyer, M.S Awudo, had filed a motion to be joined in the matter.

Awudo also filed counter affidavit dated 25th March against the prayers of the plaintiffs, but was opposed by counsel for the plaintiffs, Somina Eleaime, who requested for a date to file his response

The Presiding Judge, Justice Henry Ochoma, after listening to the argument, adjourned till April 1 for definite hearing of the applications and possible judgement on the motions.
