The Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board says it has suspended the principal of Comprehensive Secondary School, Ngo Town, in Andoni Local Government Area of the state for having canal knowledge of a 17-year-old female student of the school.
Chairman of the board, David Briggs, in an interview with DAILY POST, described the situation as unfortunate.
Briggs also accused the principal of conniving with the zonal accounts officer in the area to victimize some of the teachers of the institution, who accosted the principal for his illicit act, by altering their Bank Verification details with a view to withholding their salaries.
David Briggs, who disclosed that the Board had concluded plans to hold a workshop that was aimed at rebuilding and rebranding staff from level 14 to level 16 in line with modern realities, urged any student who was being harassed by any staff to report such a staffer to the Board.
According to him, “The Principal in question has been suspended for now for involving himself in an inappropriate and indecent relationship with a female student, a girl of seventeen years.
“The disciplinary sub-committee has been directed to act. They have been asked to come out with an appropriate decision.
“Also affected is the Zonal Account Supervisor, who has been suspended for conniving with the same principal in altering the BVN numbers of some teachers in the school,” Briggs said.
